Advice needed for Irish EEA2.

Am a Non EEA citizen currently residing in Ireland with my EEA Sponsor. I have just come from England and i would like to have some advice on how to apply for EEA2 in Ireland. I fall under member of house hold and abenefficially of my sponsor right from the Uk.

I do not know what the requirements are, also i would like to know how long it will take for the applicartion. Your responses shall be highly appreciated.

EEA2 is a UK term. The name of the equivalent form in Ireland is EU1. Download it here:

In your case, you must be able to provide evidence that you are a family member of a UK national and was a member of his household in the country from which you have come. After the initial three months of arrival in Ireland, the UK national must be either in employment, self-employment, enrolled in a course of study or economically self-sufficient. In case of the latter two, comprehensive sickness insurance cover is required for the UK national and his resident family members.

The application should legally take 6 months to process, and this was recently ruled and reiterated by the Irish court, following a successful Judicial Review.

You will be required to show evidence that you were in some way financially dependant on you UK sponsor, while you were staying in the UK.

Simply providing evidence of having been in the same household does not seem to go down well with the Irish Authorities. Having said so, legally speaking and according to the directive, it should be enough.

Be prepared for a bit of rustle and tumble, but is everything is overboard, the law will certainly be on your side. This is from a personal experience.

It will be best if this is transfered to the Irish Section, so you can get more responce.
