Does anybody know a good career adviser (for writing CV, Cover Letter, advising on suitable positions and expected salaries)?

Please don't get me wrong. I feel one is best suited to assess the work he has done, way to present it based on the needs of the role. CV Writers may do an eye candy for CV but adding value will be in your hands. So I will advise to write your own CV and believe me, you will feel good once it is done.

Writing CV - nothing better than the net, amazing samples and step by step guide to creating a CV that markets your skills. Noone but YOU can decide how you want to shape your CV and market your key skills
Cover Letter - Does NOT play a big role in today's world. It's your CV and quality of work done that matters.
Suitable Positions - It's the person who needs to know what they can and want to do. What can anybody, looking at your CV, tell you that you dont already know?? Maybe your relatives will give better advice than an unknown advisor
Expected Salaries - Absolutely noone. Read the net, search for average salaries. There are numerous sites again. But salaries are very subjective. A person with 5 yrs exp may get twice that a 10yr exp person because of their personal achievements, educational background, domain knowledge, etc

Career Advisers are meant for kids in high school or just graduating from college and dont know where to start or what to do in their life. For anybody else, they are useless and as good as non-existant

I tend to differ with respect to this point alone. I can see a marked difference between the number of responses to the applications I have sent with a cover letter and ones without it.

Sorry for hijacking the thread. Although it looks like nobody has much idea about the renewable energy field based on the reponse to my thread, I am asking once more if somebody has missed my previous thread.

and to add to the previous post - I must add my comments are biased towards the IT sector and if cover letters for jobs, most of which today are completed automated and add to that keywords in CV searches play a big role, then I stand corrected.
I do know for a fact that non IT related fields still go the traditional way - that is, look at an application for its merit and pay close attention to the wording of the cover letter while applying - but thanks to the internet and boom of a kazillion job sites, cover letters have taken a back seat today
