possible options to stay in UK?

my b/f is a south african currently in UK on a 2 yr working holiday visa.
I understand it is possible that he may 'switch' to HSMP or stay here if his occupation is one of those on the shortage list. Where can I find this list of occupations for which workers are in short supply? And where can I find out how he scores on the HSMP points system I have heard about?

As another option, he may be interested in buying a business here either by himself or in partnership with a UK citizen. Is this at all viable? Where could I find more info?

Finally, if all this fails, can he apply for a 6 month holiday visa when his current visa expires? If so, must he leave the UK to do this and is there a certain amount of time for which he must leave?

Please help me find the answers to my questions. Please note we have lived together for less than a year.

Under "Schemes & Programmes" look for the following schemes:

1. Work Permit
2. Highly Skilled Migrants
3. Businessmen

IMHV, chances he gets an extension visitors visa are slim.

You can still marry your boyfriend but he will have to either marry abroad and enter on a spouse visa or marry in the UK on a fiance visa for which he will have to apply outside the UK. If his current LTR is still valid for more than six months you'll be able to marry in the UK after applying for an approval certificate from the IND.

If I am not mistaken you posted almost the exact same query just over a month ago which attracted a number of responses from members of this board.

It does not look as if your circumstances have changed and I think the answers to your question that you posted previously still hold true!
