NEED AN ADVICE - PLEASE HELP (TIER 1 GENERAL)

Post by alifaroo » Sat Jun 12, 2010 9:23 pm

Hi,

I am planning to apply for tier 1 general in 3 to 4 months time. I have a few questions regarding my earnings. As from my salary employment I get about £22,000 in 12 months. And to fulfil the point’s requirement I need another £8000 to make it £30,000 (for which I will get 15 points).
Basically I get the points in following order;

• Age 29 yrs – 20 points
• Masters degree – 35 points (top-up degree) completed in less than a year.
• Earnings
*employment 12 months earnings £22,000
*self-employment with the 12 months period I have to make at least £8000.
Both => £30,000 – 15 points
• UK Experience (5 points from earnings – if I get it)
• Maintenance (10 points) £800 in bank account (bank statement provided for 3 months)
• English Language (10 points) Letter from Uni
ALL => 75 POINTS
I am a little worried about the new requirements stated in tier 1 guidance notes – from which I am only able to supply (ii) otherwise I don’t have any other evidence from the following.
[Someone suggested me to get either Professional Indemnity insurance (instead of employers liability insurance) OR open a business bank account and get the letter from bank (where I have a little concern – even if I open a business account or get a professional indemnity insurance that will not cover the period of self employment from the time I got registered with HMRC.

SOMEONE PLEASE ADVICE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

(142)

i) Employers Liability Insurance from an authorised insurer.

ii) Proof of registration with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) as self employed. (ONLY ABLE TO PROVIDE THIS ONE)

iii) Evidence of Registration with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) as an employer to pay PAYE & National Insurance

iv) Certificate of VAT registration and latest VAT return confirming VAT registration number. (If turnover in excess of £64,000)

v) Latest Annual self-assessment tax return to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) - Statement of Account (SA300 or SA302).

vi) Latest Corporate/Business Bank Statement along with a letter from the Bank setting out the dealings it has had with the organisation, including the nature and duration of its dealings.

vii) Poof of ownership of Business Premises and other Fixed Assets or Proof of Lease of Business Premises
