PSW Dependent to student

Post by rpshah43 » Sat Jun 12, 2010 6:34 pm

Hi

I am on PSW Dependent and I want to extend my visa to either in Tier -1 Gereral / Student Visa. My visa expires on last week of October. My wife didnt work for last 1 year because of pregnancy and still dont want to work for next 3 months. So i think extending on tier 1 general is almost impossible. Is there anyone who knows how difficult it is to get student visa after psw dependent from india? (As i know i wont be able to change to student visa within uk, or can i?)

do i have any chances to get tier 1 converted here?
or i have to go for student visa? is it too difficult to get student visa and can i show finance here in uk bank?

Please advise me................

Thanks

If you fulfill the guidelines for Tier - 1 General, then of course you could apply for it. If you dont satisfy the requirements, then go for a student Visa. If you apply for a degree that enables you to apply for a visa and get admission into a college/university on the Tier - 4 Sponsor's list, then you could apply for a student Visa.. Finance in a UK bank is acceptable..

Does anyone have any idea how difficult it is to get student visa from india after psw dependent stamp on my passport and will i qualify for psw on completion of course( If the scheme is still alive by that time)? And finally how much finance i will need to show for me,my wife and my son altogether?

I dont know if there is a level of difficulty, but as I said before, if you apply for a degree that enables you to apply for a visa and get admission into a college/university on the Tier - 4 Sponsor's list, then you could apply for a student Visa.. You will find all the details for dependents here..
