retention of residing rights

Post by clemola » Thu Jun 17, 2010 12:54 pm

can someone pls help.i married an eea national in nov 2000 and got a 5yre family permit in april 2001 as a none EEA person, and we seperated in sept 2006 and ,i didnt know her whereabouts till last year.i couldnt put in an application for PR at that time cos she wouldnt give me any of her docs then she dissapeared so i couldnt do a divorce and when my 5yre family permit ran out i had to resign my job.,in 2007 i put in an application to stay here as the parent of a EEA minor (chen case) and i was given a leave of a year in march 2009 about two yrs after i sent the application to the HO. now the yrs is over and i have sent my application back to the HO a month ago, i have not worked in the uk since i resigned my job in 2006 and been self sufficient thru my family back in my country which i must confess my family is fairly well to do. last year i finally traced my wife and she finally agreed to give me a divorce and just got a decree absolute last week. the divorce itself took so long as she really really took her time in sending back forms sent to her from the court.now, my question is can i still put in any application about retaining a right of residence after about 4yrs? and if possible though i doubt if she'l be coperative if i have to need anything from her.
