VAF9-Section 5.1 & 5.6 Query

Hi,
My family comprises of a wife and two kids. In section 5.1 of VAF9 form "Is your partner accompanying you or joining later" I have opted "Yes", similarly for section 5.6, "Do you have any children accompanying you or joining you later" I again have opted "Yes".
I need advise from experienced persons regarding the amount of maintenance funds I have to show in this scenario.
Please note that I am not applying for my family right now; however, once my visa is stamped, I will proceed regarding applying for my family.

If you are applying alone then you dont need to show maintenance for your family. But, when you are applying for your dependants, you must show maintenance funds for all your dependants and as well as for yourself.

Hi,
I was also under the same impression but below statement at Part 7 of Appendix-1 has confused me.
"You must have GBP 2800 available funds for yourself plus GBP 1600 for each dependent accompanying you or intending to join you in the UK within 12 months of your arrival in UK."
I need advise from some experienced guy who has been through this process.
