Please advise!!!!!!!!! Confused

Post by sonub4ualt » Sat Jun 19, 2010 9:21 pm

Hi,

I have set of queries to be addressed before submitting my wife's visa from india as we both are currently in UK. Would appreciate if someone could brief me about the application process.

I am currently in UK for the past 20 Months on TIER 1.General (Previously was on HSMP, extended in the month of May 2010) and my wife for more than 1 year who holds a student visa until November 2010.

We got married in the month of March 2010 in India. After returning to UK, I have applied for my extension within UK as in-country application along with my wife's application for a dependant visa. My application was approved, but unfortunately my wife's visa was refused stating she did not enter UK as my spouse or partner. She is expected to finish her course by next year April 2011(Current visa valid until Nov 2010).

My questions are:

1. How much funds do we need to maintain in total, and me as the primary applicant do i need to maintain funds for both of us or only for her.

Is it £533 or (£800 + £533), or £1600, or any other?

2. Does she have the possibility to switch her visa status from student to my dependant if she applies from india (she is currently in UK)?

3.What are the supporting documents needed for a successful application
?

4.What are the lead processing times as my wife's visa is about to expire in Nov 2010 (we are planning to maintain funds from the month of July'10 until Oct'2010 for a 90-day period) and incase if her visa is refused can she again switch back to student due to the time constraint.

5. If she applies in October 1st week, and does not receive any update until mid of November (giving six weeks of time), is there a possibility that she can withdraw her application as she would require to come back for her further studies, how long would it take to withdraw the application and receive the passport?

Thanks & Regards,
Uday
