Citizenship by Association

Post by simeon » Wed Jun 23, 2010 1:05 pm

My child is an Irish citizen and consequently has an Irish passport.
However, my family & I lives in Cape Town South Africa. I want to know if my child's status as an Irish citizen can be used as a basis to apply for citizenship for her other siblings born in Cape Town South Africa? Please advise..

This route has been tried by many people that I know of in Ireland and the response from INIS has been that citizenship cannot be granted on the basis of an Irish sibling.
...though it tarries, it shall surely come...
