1st time HSMP applicant - applying soon - got some questions

Post by YV » Wed Mar 15, 2006 3:19 am

Hello All,

I am applying for the HSMP scheme (under 28) and have less than 2 months before I turn 28. My questions are:

- if I do not qualify to gain points for past earnings, do I still need to submit information (pay slips, tax returns) still? Will this help me score points in other areas that I do qualify?
- is it necessary to get a representative cos they are quite expensive?
- does my partner have to provide 2 forms of evidence (ie educational qualifications and graduate work experience) or either one is sufficient to score points?
- does my partner's educational qualifications have to be recognised by NARIC as part of evidence?
- does my chances increase if I am Australian citizen?
- can the employer reference letter be in point form to make visibility of information easier to read?
- In Stage 2 of the HSMP form, does no job offer evidence provided weigh down my chances though stated in HSMP guideline that it is not necessary to have one? (Because the jobs or recruitment agencies would not consider me until I am actually there?)
- does my chances increase if I have a working holiday visa approved first to show that I can work in the UK?

Please help...Thank you

:) YV

Answers in the order of your questions

- If you dont qualify for points under earnings, you dont have to send evidences for earnings.

- It is totally unnecessary to have representation to apply for HSMP. The HSMP guidlines are comprehensive but straight forward, read carefully and multiple times. You can always use the search facility here. 99.9% of the questions have invariably been asked and answered before.
- Either the work experience or the graduation to claim points for spouse but you also need to prove that you have lived together for 2 years and submit 3-4 other evidence like joint bills etc. Read the guidlines for exact details.
- Yes
- No, doesnt make a difference from which country you are
- Yes it can be in points.
- No, not having a job offer will not be held against you. In fact HSMP is a platform for you to come here and look for a job.
- No, your application will be considered based on the evidence you submit and nothing else.

Thank you very much for your prompt response and help. I am sure there will be other questions popping up while I am in the process of finishing my application.
Actually, got one more for the time being:

Can you please explain the meaning of getting a notation (correct term?) for the passport or documents? And is it necessary for the HSMP application?
