Tier 1 General renewal

can i just confirm that you can only apply to extend tier 1 general only within 28 days that your visa is due to expire?

You will come across members of this forum who have applied to extend their visas as early as 4-5 months before their visa was due to expire.

I am one of them, applied 3 months in advance
