confused...

Post by rawz » Wed Jun 30, 2010 4:45 pm

hello ...
i've been searching for the topics related to my problem..but so far no success. my problem is common..but there's something which is confusing me... i'm here on my spouse settlement visa...which was issued on the 13-10-2008 but i entered uk on the 30-10-2008. i was under the impression that my visa, which is normally for 2 years, will expire on the 13-10-2010. i just recently passed my life in uk ..and was actually calculating the 28 days before i can apply when i actually looked at the expiray date on my visa which says 13-01-2011...i'm confused as.. could it be a mistake or is that my visa expires after 2 years and 3 months.?? so when should i apply for ilr ....28 days before i enterd uk ...or 28 days my 2 year qualifying period... or 28 days before the 13th of jan 2011.
please can anybody give me some right information and clear out the confusion. your help will be greatly appriciated.
thanks

You can apply from 28 days before the equivalent date you entered the UK 2 years ago...up until (i.e before) the expiry date shown on the visa.
