im british citizen and was born in the uk, and want to move to india permanetly, i dont want to come back to the uk, can i stay there without a visa?

Do you have any ancestral connection with India?
If yes, you may explore the Person of Indian origin route.

it is an nice idea to settle in india.
but you will visa as well as work permit to survive here.

you can apply for OCI a lifetime visa which permits everything but voting and farm land ownership and working in politics. this is if you have anyone in your family born in India up to 3 generations ago. parents or grandparents. other wise tourist visa, employment visa
