Can I apply for settlement visa for wife whilst not working

Hello,

I am a British citizen by birth. My wife is Peruvian; we married in the UK in 2004. We have three children, all on British passports.
We lived in Australia from 2005-2009 where I was working.
We moved to Peru in November 2009 for an extended holiday where we have been living since. During this time I have NOT been working and we have been living off savings.

I would like to move our family back to the UK and would have to apply for a settlement visa for my wife. I am concerned that not having any current income will pose a problem to my wife's residency application.

We have a family home in the UK owned by my parents and family members who are willing to act as sponsors if necessary. Of course I intend on returning to work also on my return.

I'd really appreciate any advice.

Approximately 10000 Australian Dollars and 8000 Pounds Sterling

In that case you might just get away with it if you have this amount of savings.

However if I was in your shoes, I would come over first , get work and then apply for your family. You should definetely have no problem then

No you cant do it straightaway.Minimum will be 3 months as you will need 3 months bank statement and wage slips etc as evidence to show that your job and support is long term.

Luckily for you, applications in Australia are dealt within days rather than months as in other parts of the world.If your documents etc are all ok, you should have no problem
