Fiancée visa - Date first meet

I've been looking at the visa application and it ask for the date we first met.
I was introduced to my fiancée (she American) by a friend and we first made contact by email.
Is this the date we met in person or the date we first emailed each other? It also asked were we first meet, would the is be on the internet, or when we physically met in person which was at the airport when I first went to visit her?

Any advise would be extremely greatful
