limit to number of days outside UK

I am due for citizenship in 9 months time and am planning a long trip to India..is there a limit to the number of days spent outside the UK on vacations etc while considering British Citizenship like there is the 3 months rule for ILR..

In the last 12 months, prior to applying for citizenship, you should not be out of the country for more than 90 days.

but how the home office will go on finding out how many days you have left the country ???? its seems impossible ...i believe they go on what you write on the application ...!!! please if someone can clarify this thanks !!
