could post leave the gap in the lond residency

I am about to finish my 10 years long residency in the UK. I am slightly curious about one issue. I would like to know if gap in a long residency could happen if the application form is posted on a day before the visa expires.

For e.g., my visa expires on the sunday (25 July 2004) and and post the application form via first class recorded delivery on friday (23 July 2004). Assuming the post was delivered on 26 July (Monday) or 27 July (Tuesday), is it possible for the gap to happen??

I think the UKBA consider the date on which you post your documents as the date of application. So technically, you should have no gaps.
