1+3 (OR) 1+4 for extensions (not for ILR)

There are lot of discussions going on in other threads for obtaining ILR. But my question is related to Extension after 1 yr.

Earlier since ILR was in 4 years ppl used to get a 3 yr extension at the end of one year.

What will happen to those people who recently got their 1 yr initial approvals stamped. At the end of one year, will they get 3 yr extension or 4 year extension ( because now the ILR is after 5 yrs).

ILR is never "implied" while you are on WP. Its something you can go for after completing the time.

Extension of WP is linked to whether the employer still needs you rather than ILR eligibility period.

how abt HSMP extensions ? after completion of initial one year....... will we get 3 yr or 4 yr extension ??
