Unmarried Partner Visa - UK

Post by Minisep » Sat Mar 18, 2006 1:19 pm

Hi there,

Just wanting any advice from previous applicants of the Unmarried Partner Visa - I am Australian and my partner is the holder of an Austrian passport. We have been in the UK for 18 months (I am on a working holiday visa) and we would like to stay longer. I have been advised by the Home Office to fill in the EEA2 form as I need to apply under European laws as neither of us are British.

We need to supply documentation to prove that we have been living together for more than 2 years (it has been 4 years for us). We have mail that links us to the same address and also our wills and a joint bank account, however the mail is staggered in months. Do we have to show the mail as consecutive months????

Also we are both contractors and therefore if he were to sponsor me, he may not be in a job when we apply...will that matter??? I will be in a contract role when we plan to apply (later this month) and we have enough funds to support ourselves.

Any advise I get get would be much appreciated!!! It has been a nightmare trying to get any information on what documentation we need to supply for this application.

Thanks!!!

Sharon
