EEA Famlily Permit - Urgent Help!!

Post by marty_boy » Wed Jul 07, 2010 9:33 am

Hi All,

It would be great to get your help if possible? My wife and i are relocating to the UK as i have a job waiting for me in London, I am Irish and my wife is Brazilian, we have applied for the EEAFP a couple days ago. We gave all the documents they needed to process the application, marrige cert, passports etc...My main problem now is the time its going to take to find out if my wife gets the permit, we are moving to the UK in 1 week!! Does anyone know how long it takes and if i can speed up the process anyway at all???

Your help is very much appreciated.

Speedup: Try to call them or rely on EEA regulations and just come without the permit. But for the latter you would obviously need the passports back...

Contact the embassy you applied through. Did you get an acknowledgement email with contact details?

Where did you apply? If in Dublin they are quite fast.

Hey Wellington, it was in Dublin, the only email i got was the confirmation of the appointment. Do they actually talk to you in the embassy? I couldnt even go in there with my wife. UNBELIEVABLE!!! Very anxious at this point!!

Hmm you have a point, I don't think you can get in without an appointment. The switchboard is worth a try....(353) (1) 205 3700.
If worst comes to worst, as above go together armed with marriage certificate and EEA regulations.... or wait for the permit and your wife can enter the UK separately if you're already there.
With any luck you'll get it in time though, they processed mine (and several others I've heard of in recent months) in a matter of days. Good luck!

hi

My partner and I are applying for an EEAFP as well and apparently it is quite quick if it's straightforward but it can take up to 10 working days...

hope you get it soon

good luck
