need advice on funds required for B2 visa to visit US

Hi
I am a Indian Citizen and currently studying Masters in UK on student tier 4 visa which is valid till 31 July 2011. I need to go US for a month on visitors visa to visit my friend who is studying in US.
I need to knw :

1. how much funds should i show in my account to get B2 visa for a month?
2. how old the fund should be?
3. Documents required to show as UK is not my home country.

I have currently deposited 1000 pounds a week back.are they sufficient to apply for the visa or do i need to deposit some more.

Are the below documents sufficient to apply for the visa:
1. Course confirmation letter from the university stating my course duration and vaccation time period.
2. PAssport
3.Invitation Letter from my friend.
4. Bank statement.

Please advice...

No one can say for sure. You need to convince the adjudicating officer that you will go back to the UK at the end of your trip, and that you have enough funds to cover your stay during this period.
