eu spouse and Taking of fingerprint

Are non- eu spouse of eu citizen required to give their fingerprints to the Garda in other to get their eufam4 endorsed in their passport and also to be issued with GNIB card.

Thanks Ben for your reply. I did not really understand the reply the gave you, in a nut shell, does it mean that they are somehow permited to do so,? do you think that it wise for someone to refuse that, and if so do you think that it would be a problem for that person.

In my opinion, if they ask to take your fingerprint. It will be better to do just that provided you know you wont involve yourself in any crime.
I know in some other countries if you are ask to get a police clearance they will take your fingerprint for that. So I dont see it as a problem.

I do not have a problem giving my fingerprints, I just want to know the purpose of taking it, I think that we deserve to be told what they do with our fingerprints.
