just briefly:

long term residency - stamp 4 for 5 years after 5 years on work permits/working visa, renewable for another 5 years at expiery. Holder still needs re-entry visa if applicable, allowed to work anywhere in ireland and start own business.

permanent residency - stamp 4 EUFAM for 5 years, given to spouses of EU nationals. Allowed to work anywhere in ireland and start own business. Renewable at expiery. No need for re-entry visa to ireland, and no need for schengen visa's if travelling with or joining EU spouse.

citizenship/naturalisation - ultimate prize :) irish passport. no need for visas any more, right to vote and freedom of travel and work around the EU.

I hope that helps

This is also granted via stamp 5 to anyone who has spent at least 8 years in Ireland on a work visa or work permit
