Family Visitor Visa application in Albania URGENT pls

Post by damienronnie » Wed Jul 21, 2010 10:37 am

Hi everyone

I am the sponsor for me parents who have come three times previously to the UK.

I am a British Citizen since 1999 and I have 3 kids born here. Never claimed any benefits and work in the legal field.

As many other Albanians whu came to this country in mid 90's I claimed to be from Kosovo rather than Albania (although the place of birth given to the immigration authorities is literally 3 miles from my place of birth but this does not make any difference whatsoever).

On the face of it it can be argued that I obtained the citizenship by deception but the fact is that I provided the British embassy in Tirana with my British passport Sowing that I am from Kosovo and my birth certificate showing that I am from Albania on three occasions, namely, 2002,2005 and 2006 and on all these occasions my parents were granted 6 months visas.

This time the attended the embassy on Monday and were told to go back on Tuesday at 2:30 pm for the decision. However on Monday afternoon they called my parents and asked for my birth and family certificate which they provided on Tuesday. The Albanian guy who accepted the docs had threatened my parents that I would be deported because I have lied. No date to go back for a decision was given.

I am not bothered at all that anything will happen to me and I intend to appeal a refusal but I was wondering whether anyone had a similar experience or maybe heard of one?!

Any constructive feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You did use deception in your application for British citizenship, you lied didn't you- so deception.

Yeah paperpusher I lied, I think I said that before you reinstating it but the immigration had all the means to check it out and deport me or whatever. If you read my email, my parents provided them with all the original documents three times since 2002 and they were granted visas.

On the other hand the question is not how I obtained the citizenship, it is whether I satisfy the criteria for sponsorship and on that basis, and on that basis alone I am going to appeal if they are refused. Your case refers to people who wanted to bring their partners here on permanent basis and can be easily distinguished on the grounds that I am a sponsor and my parents will come here only for a couple of weeks.
