Can I make a short trip to UK on Tier 1 Visa

Guys,

A quick one.. on behalf my friend.

My Friend works in US, he got Tier1 sometime in June 2009 and did not come to UK on this visa yet.. is the Visa still valid... can he come for a short 10 visit and attend few interviews and go back.

Will that impact candidates profile, will he blocked for short visits...

AFAIK, he can come to UK any time for any long as long as his visa is valid for.

NO.

He can come to UK anytime as long as his dates are valid in his VISA. Earn 70000 pounds formally and have valid evidences for earnings (and also pay applicable taxes) in just one month. Leave UK.
Again, he can apply for a extension with this.

NO.

The query is whether an individual with a Tier 1 (General) EC can travel to the UK for a short trip. And the answer is yes, he can .. anytime during the validity of his visa (e.g. - visit UK to attend interviews).

But yes, the Tier 1 EC must not be used habitually to make short trips to the UK (e.g. - visiting UK repeatedly to attend to project / work assignments using Tier 1 visa). This is not allowed and if the trend is noticed by IOs at any UK airport, IMHO they would be in their right to deny entry to the individual.

The query doesn't ask/enquire about extension, so a good part of your response is irrelevant to the query.
