Tier 2 to Tier 1 please help

Tier 2 to Tier 1 please help

Hi im currently on psw tier 2 (sponsored by an employer visa) i wish to extend my visa but my employer can longer sponsor me. Is it poss to change my visa to a tier1 highly skilled?? if so what the rules.. there is so much information on the net that im so confused. can someone point me in the right direction or post a link to the right information please.

can i still apply within the uk? and do i have to show previous earnings?

Did not understand whether you are under PSW or Tier 2.

Anyway, you best friend is the policy guidance and go through it thoroughly.

In regards to to switching please find an excerpt from the UKBA site
Can you switch into Tier 1 (General)?
If you are in the UK and you want to switch into Tier 1 (General), you must currently have permission to stay here in one of the following immigration categories:
Highly Skilled Migrant Programme
Innovator
Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland Scheme
International Graduates Scheme (or Science and Engineering Graduates Scheme)
Postgraduate doctor or dentist
Student (under the Immigration Rules in force until March 2009)
Student nurse
Student re-sitting an examination
Student writing up a thesis
Work permit holder
Businessperson
Self-employed lawyer
Writer, composer or artist
any other Tier 1 category
any Tier 2 category
any Tier 4 category
dependent partner of a Tier 4 migrant
If you are here in any other category, you cannot switch into Tier 1 (General). You will need to leave the UK and apply from abroad.

Hi sorry i forgot to say im a tier 2 psw and wanted to switch to tier 1 higly skilled. My psw is ruuning out soon and my employer can no longer sponsor me.. many thanx
