Indefinite leave to remain feb 2009 passport still not retur

i hope someone can give me advice on this. i was give ilr in feb 2009 in exceptional circumstances. my passport expires in september 2010 and the home office gave me a residence permit on paper rather than print it in the passport. i have tried several times to write to them to get it back even sent letters oc complaint but have not heard anything, what do i de? if i go to the croydon office in person will i be able to get it back?

It won't be surprising if UKBA has lost your passport, given the fact that they have failed to reply to your letters.

Make a complaint as you will probably need something in writing from UKBA when reporting to the police (lost passport) and/or applying for a new passport.
