Convert from Tier-2 to PSW

Post by grobyc » Thu Jun 17, 2010 8:07 pm

Hello,
I got my employer to sponsor me a Tier-2 visa this Oct-09. Now, I want to convert back to Tier-1 (PSW) as I don't have enough points because of salary for Tier-1 General. I received my degree in Dec'09. Is is possible to change to PSW from Tier-2? The BA Home Office website is a bit ambiguous as it says that only those on student visa can apply to extend the stay.

Any help is very much appreciated.

you can switch to Tier - 1 PSW if you meet the requirements. Have you been maintaining the funds required.

1. According to my understanding you can not as u can not score points for your immigration status cuz of the Tier 2.

He can do so since it is one year within receiving his degree if his maintenance funds are ok.. It doesn't matter what visa he is switching from for a PSW..

Yes..I have been maintaining the funds but meet all other criteria my only concern is whether I can switch from tier-2 to psw( or is it only allowed to switch from student to psw ) in most of topic discussions on this site i noticed that i would have to apply from outside UK..i guess i will go by that route..

hey I've got your message - sorry for the late reply

I haven't started applying yet - I am planning to apply in late July

I've spoken to the UK embassy of my home country and they say it should be fine

juz an update about my status for you guys as a reference

I have successfully granted the PSW without any problem
so as long as you have fulfilled all the other requirements of PSW there is no problem to switch it from Tier 2 from your country
