Tourist Visa Enquiry...

Does anybody know what the procedure is after a person gets a tourist visa for UK form India?... The query is for both six month visas and long term ones (1, 2, 5, 10 year tourist visas)

Does the visa start immediately from the date of issue?...
OR
Does it start from the date that the applicant wants it to start?...
OR
Does it start from the date of entry to UK?...[/u]

the six month one starts immediately from the date of issue.
