Will it cause any problem........I m worried

Post by tusharkudalkar » Sat Aug 07, 2010 7:36 am

Hi all,

I got my UK student tier 4 visa and im going to do a master's course in UK.
However, my visa has 2 points in observation sections:
1) No recourse to public funds.
2) No employment as a doctor or dentist in training.
Will these 2 clauses cause a problem for getting part time job there, bcoz they haven't mentioned it explicitly that I can work for 20 hours per week on
my visa......pls reply.

There is no problem you taking a job, unless of course that job is as a doctor or dentist in training!

The 20 hour limit? That only applies in term-time. Outside term-time there is no limit to the number of hours you can work.

Check your visa again. It might say something along the lines of "Code 2" which is code word for what John explained. Beware that as a masters student your summer vacation is supposed to be used for writing up your dissertation so is classed as term-time unlike the undergraduates. Consequently you'll only be allowed to work 20 hours per week in your summer vacation too.
