Tier-1 Dependent visa immediately after marriage

Hi All,

My marriage is planned on 12-Sep-2010. Can i apply for dependent visa immediately after my marriage. I am maintaining more than 1600GBP in my account in India.

My Status:
Valid Tier 1(general) till Feb 2012.
Entered Uk: 4-Jul-2009
Got job and working from: 27-Jul-2009

Please confirm if i can apply for the dependent visa immediately after marriage and the below documents are enough

1. Cover letter
2. Dependent visa Application.
3. Dependent Passport original.In passport, it mentions as single. Hope this is not any issue.
4. Marriage certificate
5. Marriage photos 10 including some group photos.
6. Marriage invitation in local language(Do i need to prepare a marriage invitation in english or the marriage certificate and photos are enough)
7. My passport photocopy(first two pages, last page & visa page with the immigrations stamps)
8. Bank statement from India showing maintenance funds.
9. My offer letter photocopy, 3 months salary slip photocopy, bank statement showing the salary credit in UK
10. UK House rent agreement, council tax bill photocopy

Please let me know if this is enough or anything else is needed.

I would suggest you to submit original documents instead of photocopies, if possible.

Applying for dependant visa immediately after marriage is not an issue as long as you are able to convince ECO about genuineness of your marriage.

Also, get your marriage invitation card translated into English by some authorized solicitor. Its not essential but to be on safer side, you are better off getting your card translated into english or print off an invitation card in english.


In addition to your document list, you need to submit a sponsorship letter for your wife.

Thank you for the immediate reply. I will get a invitation card in english. Can you provide some details about the sponsor letter. Any format/link will be helpfull
