What "explanation" do you need regarding switching?

Hint: The information is available on the same website that you used to apply for PSW.

I have to back Daru up here... I can't find the precise guidance either. The only indication I can find is switching to a Tier 1 (General) visa, but it doesn't give the specific scenario for PSW to HSMP (Tier 1), nor a calculator for eligibility. If it's there, it's very well hidden, because I've been looking for it for days now on behalf of a friend of mine who is currently on PSW.

That's not to say it's not available - it obviously is if you guys are saying it's there, but I need a visit to Specsavers  , cause no matter how much googling or searching I do, I can't find precise guidance for this type of switch. :(

Lindsay :P

Are you assuming that one exists (specific scenario) ... or if one existed in the past is still effective now?

My post on this forum was answered positively yesterday, saying that it is possible because switching between categories on Tier 1 (of which PSW apparently is), is possible. So going on that, I did some more searching, but still couldn't find anything.

It doesn't really matter, since I'm only searching for a friend of mine and she can ask her solicitor if necessary, I just figured if I could find something for her, it might be useful :)

Thanks!
Lindsay

Switching is definitely possible ... clearly mentioned in the policy guidance! So I am unsure what exactly you mean when you say "if it is there, it is well hidden".

My post was in reference to the "specific scenario" that you claim.

Oh sorry! 'Specific scenario', as in, PSW to HSMP. The first option on the calculator to determine points for switching to HSMP asks what visa category the person is currently in the UK on... and PSW doesn't appear on that list. :(

What do you select to the question "applying from inside or outside the UK"?

She's here on PSW currently, so I selected 'in the UK'. :)

I can see the PSW option (second step). First step ... select Tier 1 (highly skilled worker).

See, was never hidden!

I'm looking at this calculator available on this forum...

http://www.workpermit.com/uk/uk-immigra ... tching.htm

I can't see it! Ha ha! Am I being completely blonde (and blind)?

Or is there a better, more user-friendly calculator available?
