EEA permit process times from Jamaica consulate

Hi, my wife is US citizen and I am Irish citizen, we both live and work in the Cayman Islands. We travelled to Jamaica to submit docs for EEA family permit July 12. My wife and I will travel together and she hopes to work in UK. The Worldbridge website says June processing times for family permits should be 3-5 days, we are now waiting 6 weeks. has anyone had any experience with jamaican post? Also does anyone know of average wait times for processing permits from jamaica? We are getting rather concerned as we have booked flights for Sept 29th and rental accomodation for Oct 1st. Any advice, ideas comments greatly appreciated, thanks.
