Switching Visas

Post by Someone83 » Sat Aug 28, 2010 11:42 pm

Hi. Is there an allowed time limit between switching visas? Long story short - I got Tier 2 visa in May, and would now like to switch to a different visa. Will this be a problem?

Longer story:

I initially arrived in the UK in August 2008 under a Tier 2 general visa. The company that sponsored me went bust and I joined an umbrella company 4 months ago that sponsored a new visa for me. Now, I need to pursue some personal projects and plan to to switch to either:

* dependent on my partner who can get a tier 1 post study
* or Tier 5 Youth mobility scheme

This way, I can continue working on personal projects in the UK without earning money for a continuous period.

Thanks in advance.
