PSW work visa doubts.

Post by abbyanish » Wed Sep 01, 2010 3:05 pm

Hi guys
I completed all the modules in my MSc course except the final thesis which unfortunately I have to submit again. My visa expired on 31st may 2010 so I have to come back to India. I have two questions:

1) Maintenance of funds: I understand that I should not go below 2800GBP for the last 90 days of applying my VISA but because I'm applying from India is there any particular exchange rate which I should maintain. The reason I'm so particular is recently I had to withdraw some amount which was unavoidable. So now if they consider Rs75 for a pound Ill be safe for 2800GBP but then Rs80 will put me into trouble.

2) I heard a few people say that one can apply for PSW even if his/her thesis is not completed, just completing the modules alone will qualify for the PSW. Is this true?

It'll be also helpful if you throw in some few tips for people who are applying for PSW which u'd think would be helpful as applying PSW from outside UK is always risky.

Thank you

1. Read the policy guidance, which explains how forex has to be taken into account.
2. You cannot claim to have passed the course without the dissertation being graded.
