Bank Statements

Post by nchodem » Thu Sep 16, 2010 8:47 pm

Hi;
I am applying for ILR next week in person. I have got all the original documents excpet bank statement. The problem is that I don't normaly receive paper statements. I have ordered paper statement from the bank I haven't still received them. I am just wondering if I print statement from online and get certified from the Bank would that be acceptable.

Has anyone gone in same route. I would really appreciate your inputs on this.

Thanks
Nagi

Hi;
My ILR was approved yesterday. I went with online bank statements stamped by bank. There was no problem at all.

And one thing I noticed was, they don't bother if you provide extra documents like If you provide more than 3 months bank statements, 3 months pay slips. So try to keep it simple and stright to the point.

Cheers

P60s

Post by koshur » Wed Sep 22, 2010 9:43 pm

Hi

Did you submit your P60 forms as well and what documents did you submit?

I thought they would be happy with bank statements & payslips as proof of income.

Appreciate any help.

Thank you

hi;
I had only 4 P60's. So I had to get Employment History letter from HMRC. I think you must take P60's as well. If you don't have all the P60's You can call HMRC and request previous 5 yrs emploment history of yours. They won't charge you anything. It might take 2 to 3 weeks.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Nagi

Can you give the phone number to ring as the HMRC website isn't straightforward?

Also is it just called the employment letter?

Thank you

Sorry for the late reply. I haven't checked the site for last two days. Here is the number that I have used 01355359022.

You can tell them that You need letter which shows how much tax you paid and whoom did you work for and start date and end date. Then they should send you the letter.

When you call them they ask for ur NI number and your address. Address is the tricky thing here. Unless you inform HMRC about you change in address they still have ur old address in their records. So for example when you had applied for NI number you might have given them a address and if your present is different from whats on their record they might not provide the information that you need. If they say that they can't verify your details, you can tell them you were not aware that you have inform change in address to HMRC. you might have to try 2 or 3 times. basically talk nicely to them.

cheers

Thank you very much Nagi.

I rang the normal number and yes they did ask my address but the person on the phone updated it while on the phone.
