Not being legally divorced (yet) helps but to apply for naturalisation as spouse of a British citizen you'll need to show evidence of your wife's citizenship (birth certificate / passport) when you apply. As per your post, getting access to her passport seems out of question. However, if she was born in the UK, do you know where and when she was born? If yes you can get a copy of her birth certificate and that will give you the proof you need.

See also Application for Citizenship after marriage breakdown.

Applications made on the basis of marriage or civil partnership to a British citizen wrote:• The applicant’s husband’s, wife’s or civil partner’s passport or birth certificate AND
• The marriage certificate or civil partnership certificate
