letters from employers w/ naturalisation app

Post by Wisco » Thu Sep 16, 2010 10:17 am

Just looking for advice-
Was working without permit and overstayed 3mo tourist visa, although I had a PPS number and payed tax, everything aboveboard with Revenue- should I include this employer when I send in my employment info with my naturalisation application? I don't want to get my former employer in trouble, nor do I want to hurt my chances of getting accepted.
Thanks in advance for any tips.

Hopefully you don't mind me jumping on the tail end of this, but what do you do with regards to employers who are no longer around, who have, for example, gone into liquidation and shut shop so to speak?

How many years do you work with no permit, and what was your initial status when you came in?

* Does not count as "reckonable residence" for the purposes of naturalisation. Go read stuff on the interwebs.

Either white a cover letter, saying that the employer is no longer in business, or try to get a confirmation from an HR agency through which you were employed.

Yes, I'm aware of that. I'm not counting that time in my reconable residence, just trying to decide whether to tell INIS about that job or not, as Revenue will have records of me working there even though I was not legal at the time.
