Lost i-94 Waiver form will I probs getting back into USA?

HI GUYS

GOT BACK FROM THE USA 2 WEEKS AGO, WHILE IN NEW YORK ME AND MY MATE BOTH LOST OUR I-94 WAIVER FORMS, AS WE PUT THEM IN A WALLET TOGETHER AS THEY WERE NOT STAPLED TO OUR PASSPORTS, TO MAKE SURE WE DIDNT LOSE THEM, AND WE ENDING UP UP DOING JUST THAT.

WE GOT TO THE AIRPORT AND WERE TOLD, WITHOUT THESE FORMS WE WILL HAVE TROUBLE GETTING BACK INTO THE USA WHEN WE VISIT NEXTED.

SO WE WENT TO OUR AIRLINE ( CONTINENTAL) AND TOLD THEM THE SITUATION, AND HE TOLD US NOT TO WORRY AS THE USA WERE GETTING RID OF THE OLD WAIVER SYSTEM, HE THEN SENT US TO A BLOKE WHERE WE SWIPED OUR PASSPORTS, DID OUR FINGER PRINTING AND PHOTO AGAIN, LIKE YOU DO WHEN YOU ENTER AND GAVE US A RECEPIT. SO WE THOUGHT WE WERE SORTED. THEN ALL THE PASSENGERS ON OUR FLIGHT WERE ASKED TO RE-CHECK IN AND THE WOMEN BEHIND THE COUNT HAD A RIGHT GO AT US THAT WE HAD LOST THE GREEN FORMS AND SAID THAT THE RECEPIT THAT WE HAD GOT MEANT NOTHING AND THAT EVERYONE HAD TO DO IT!!

THIS HAS CONFUSED ME NOW, IF THE GREEN I-94 WERE SO IMPORTANT WHY DONT THEY STILL STAPLE THEM TO YOUR BLOOD PASSPORT. NOONE SEEMS TO KNOW THE RULES OR WHAT TO DO, ITS CLEAR I HAVE LEFT THE USA AS I AM BACK IN ENGLAND NOW, SURELY MY PASSPORT WHEN THEY SWIPE IT SHOWS THEM THAT. AND IF THEY ARE FINGER PRINTING AND TAKING YOUR PHOTO AGAIN BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE USA, WHAT IS ALL THE FUSS ABOUT.

CAN ANYONE HELP AND CLEAR UP THIS MESS, I WANT TO GO BACK TO THE USA, BUT UNSURE ON WHAT THE HEELL TO DO.

1. Netiquette deems writing in CAPS as shouting.

2. It is your responsibility and no one elses to safeguard the I-94 forms. After all you are visitor in a foreign country and it is in your best interests to show compliance with their immigration laws especially if you wish to return. It is standard practice for the Inspectors at a POE to staple the I-94 to your passport/ travel document. If they did not do this then you can politely request that they do or could have done it for yourself.

3. Go to any search engine and type 'US Consulate London' - there should be a link to 'I've lost my I-94' on its own or on the FAQ's with a Kentucky, US address to send proof of your return to the UK including boarding passes, wage slips etc. Send notarised/ certified copies of such not the originals. Carry the same documents with you next time you travel to the US incase they send you to secondary inspection.
