myanmar marriage problem

myanmar marriage problem

Hi can any body help please my son is hoping to get married in feb next year and his fiance is burmese they met while she was here the uk studying in manchester she as now gone back home to myanmar has her student visa expired .
they are getting married in myanmar but there marriage will not be legal as myanmar will not recongnise a marriage between a burmese national and a foreign national so my question is what other options do they have ? please help if you can any advice you can give i would be grateful for .

If she qualifies, she may apply for Tier 1 (PSW) from Burma to travel to UK. In UK, she can then apply for CoA (if it is not abolished by then) or whatever it is replaced with, and upon approval, marry your son in the UK. She may then apply forextension of leave as spouse of British citizen.

One does not currently need a CoA if getting married within the Anglican Church in England and Wales.
