Dependant Visa - Accommodation Proof query

Post by gprao2010 » Sun Oct 03, 2010 9:42 am

Hi,

I am in UK on tier 1 Visa since Aug 21, 2010. I am currently staying in shared accommodation with my friends without any tenancy agreement. I would be applying for Dependant visa for my wife and kid by 2nd week of October. I am planning to give Travel date for them as Jan 3, 2011. In this scenario, do you think would it be required to provide accommodation proof as they would be arriving here close to 3 months after the date of application?

Thanks,

You need to provide some proof that your accomodation is adequate for your dependents. What kind of accomodation you have at the moment?
No of bedrooms?

Jimmy

I am currently staying in shared accommodation with my friends without any agreement. It is a double room in a 5 bedroom house. All other rooms have also been let out.

I would be taking a flat/house for rent before their arrival. Since they would be arriving in 1st week of Jan, i would take rent a flat/house during mid December. But if tenancy agreement is mandatory for dependant visa application then i would have to rent now itself.

Hi,

It does not seem to me that it is a mandatory requirement, please read this http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply ... t#13821081
it is good to have that you have accomodation proof.

I got a letter from the estate agent that I am renting a double room apartment in a shared accomodation, a bit detail about the room, that is spacious and contains one reception.

I did not attach any bills on my name. Proof of relationship and maintenance fund is compulsory here.

If this help.
