Applied for tier 1 general 22 Sept, with approval received 8 October.

My advice is to send a complete application, in a good quality binder, with each section clearly tabbed, using a highlighter to mark relevant transactions in documents, but not to stress out about the process.

In my application -

No cover letter was included;
Online payslips only - b&w printouts with company stamp & initial - no logo were included;
Online bank account transaction summaries - not actual bank statements - b&w printouts - no logos - but with bank stamp - from 2 different banks to make up the maintenance funds period requirements were included;

There were no issues whatsoever - received visa today.

Therefore - it is not true that your documentation needs to be perfect. it just needs to be the best you can put together.

That's downright incorrect and misleading. One can get lucky with an individual application in isolated cases BUT the same can not be generalised.

One MUST provide the basic minimum but sufficient documents in line with the Guidelines published by UKBA.
