PSW Application - Can I send documents separately?

Post by agp2014 » Tue Oct 12, 2010 1:53 pm

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post and just want to thank everyone for contributing to this great resource - I hope you can help me!

I am in a somewhat unique situation. For some reason I, like many international students this year, was given a student visa that expires on November 15, instead of Dec/Jan for many others.

The problem is, my grades are only finalized on Nov 17 (i.e. I can get proof of degree letter on Nov 18 at the earliest).

I need to apply before Nov 15 while my student visa is still active.

So my question is:
Can I send most of the materials on say, Nov 14, so that I get the postmark while my student visa is active
Can I then send only the degree proof letter on say Nov 18?
Can I send documents separately like this and will that be accepted?

I am thinking this is possible because there is usually a 2 week lag between when they receive the application and when they review it, so as long as all the documents are received before they physically sit down to review my application I will be fine.

I have spoken to the Border Agency on the phone an unfortunately that have not been very helpful. All they say is they cant guarantee anything and there is a risk that the application will be rejected because all documents aren't received at once.

Any advice/thoughts would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

There is a risk of the application being rejected as not all docs are presented. Why dont you just ask your university to extend your student visa. That way you have ample time to make your application
