UK Tier 1 - General Migrant Main applicant form

Post by hsmppankaj » Wed Oct 13, 2010 4:37 pm

Hi,

I have a confusion on filling up the form VAF9. I am married and I will be applying for the Tier 1 visa in December end and for my wife after 2-3 months.

In the form section 5a - Is your partner accompanying you or joining you later? If they are travelling later please provide their date of travel in Part 7.

1. I dont want to apply for my wife along with me and she will be travelling later after 2-3 months? So for this section if I enter "Yes", that is wife travelling later do I need to show the maintenence funds for both of us that is 2800GBP+1600GBP?

2. OR I can mark as Yes that is my wife travelling later but as I am the only one applying for VISA as of now so I need to only show 2800GBP but when my wife applies for dependent visa, since I will be for less that 12 months in UK so I will need to show 2800 GBP+ 1600 GBP.

Kindly clarify my confusion as I have the maintenence fund of 2800GBP but not for my dependent right now and I dont want to delay my application.

I think Pankaj that here in question you have to say NO to spouse travelling after 2-3 months. It's about you applying with your spouse.

In fact I'm having same question while filling my app form. So i'll let the expert help us out here. In my opinion, for 5a, we need to say NO as we do not wish to apply spouse in this application here.

Experts, please guide !!!

Not an expert but this is how I did.

say NO for spouse traveling with you and thus skip other bullets in section.
However, provide a marriage certificate (as you are married person) with application.

So did you apply for visa in this manner by saying NO to quest 5a and after 2-3 months applied for dependents Visa?

Were you able to get the VISA for both main applicant and dependent?

I am not taking dependent visa for my spouse.
She will have her own Tier2 visa by her employer.
We will go on one's own.
