EEA4 checklist

Post by Marco 72 » Sat Oct 16, 2010 11:18 am

My wife and I (US citizen and Italian/British citizen, respectively) are about to send in her EEA4 application for proof of her permanent residence status. She has completed five years of residence. We plan to include the following documents:

1. Letter from my employer, confirming that I have been working with them for the past 6 years on a permanent basis
2. My P60's for the last five years
3. My two most recent pay slips
4. Letter from a university, where I have been registered as a part time PhD student since last year
5. Membership certificate from our health insurance company
6. Original bank statements for our joint bank account for the past five years
7. Two recent passport size photographs of my wife.

Is there anything else we need? Also, does anyone know how long it actually takes to get your passports back? According to the website it's supposed to be ten working days.

List looks fine. 10 working days to process? No - more like 6 months max.

Thanks. I didn't mean the time to process, however - I was asking about the time needed to receive your passports if one needs to travel. The BIA website (see here) states that they take 10 working days to return the passports.

Is my understanding correct that the application will continue to be processed after the passports have been returned? I am assuming that this is the case, since the BIA website says nothing about the application being abandoned in this case.
