Replacing an old (valid) passport with a biometric passport

Post by SonyaLoboWebb » Tue Oct 19, 2010 2:23 pm

Hi there

My husband has an old, but valid, Indian passport. He has a UK visa which expires in 3 years time. He needs to apply for a biometric passport as a promoter wants him to perform (he's a musician) in the US next year. In order to get a US visa he needs a biometric passport. Does this mean he will lose his UK visa? Will he have to re-apply again? Or can it still be used as long as he carries the passport with him?

Thanks in advance!
Sonya

No, no and yes. Travel with both passports (current / new + one with UK visa stamp).
