Bank Statement on Dot Matrix Paper

Post by dhruv » Wed Oct 20, 2010 11:25 am

Hi Guys

I am applying on 25th october. I went to the bank and asked them to print the statements on Letter head. They refused to do so but printed it on Dot Matrix Paper.

Dot matrix paper has Bank's name, logo and I also got the statement Signed and Stamped. Do you guys think this will be acceptable?

Any rejections for such issue in past?

Dhruv

Does the policy guidance state anything to the effect "The bank statements must be printed on XYZ type of printer"?

NO, IT DOES NOT. But looking at the rejection posts on this forum, it seems sometimes they can reject visa for any reason even after complying with the requirements.

I hope all the horrific rejection stories were real.

Do they have all the details?

Search for all terms on "dot matrix statements". There have been some refusals reported.

As long as the bank statements reflect all the details specified in the policy guidance, the statements should not be the reason for refusal. And if a caseworker /ECO does give a wrong decision, the decision will be overturned in AR because "type of printer" used to print bank statements is not a specified requirement!

They do have all details including, bank logo, dates, bank name, period, a/c holder's name, available balance on transaction days etc.

But all by Dot matrix printer and not on letter head. But signed and stamped.

Yes, there have been rejection and thats why I am worried

Going for AR only wastes time and delays my plans. It our career we are talking about here

As sushdmehta mentioned, AR will overturn it.

Still, if you are worried, then force them to give on regular letter head.
