does my employer need to register itself??

Post by arsenal49 » Sun Oct 17, 2010 11:47 pm

i have read this article on ukba website. 3rd and 4th para concerns my question.

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/emplo ... 2-general/

my employer is a subsidiary company of an organisation which is on a register authorised to issue CoS (but my company isnt).

so, does my company need to apply to be on a register or is it enough to have parent company sponsor me.

thanks

Who will be sponsoring the non-EEA migrant? Who will be paying the salary? The non-EEA migrant will be an employee of which company? The answer(s) should tell you whether or not a sponsorship licence is required.

In simple words, every "employer" who wishes to sponsor non-EEA migrants must have a licence to do so.

here is a scenario.....

there are two companies. company A and company B.

Company A(more than 1000 employees) owns the company B(50 employees) wholly(100% shares). Company B has its own board of director but there is a representative on the board commitee from company A but he has no say whatsoever in day-to-day running of the company.

now company A is on the register and can issue COS but company B isnt.

i work for company B.

my question is...can i get a COS through company A???

if you read the article on that link then you will understand where my question is coming from...

thanks

ps. thanks for your reply sushdmehta. much apppeciated
