Effect of marriage/divorce on nonimmigrant visa application

Post by paula74 » Sun Oct 31, 2010 1:07 am

My boyfriend was married to a US citizen. they married in 2008. they only lived together for 2 months after marriage before he had to move back to his home country Egypt. He married her when he was in the states on student visa. They never filed spouse visa. They got divorce last summer. Will that affect his application for student or tourist visa to the US in the future?

From what you write, it doesn't sound as if this should have any consequences on his visa application.

Marco,
Thank you for your response. That definitely gives us some hope. I have been inclined to the same though as he will be asked to travel to the states by his employer so that can help to.
