CoS status/details

I was assigned a CoS on which i applied Tier 2 visa, now i wan to get the details of CoS (its status, the salary e.t.c), all i have is a number. Is it possible if i can get details/status for Tier 2 CoS. For some reasons i don't want to ask my employer to provide me these details.

Can UKBA help me in it? Does an SAR contain this information and is there any better method than SAR as it takes too much time.

Any help/comment will be appreciated.

Your employer should have provided you with a screenshot of the whole CoS, not just the number.

If they did not then how do you know what salary and so on to put on your visa application? They're supposed to match.
